Connecting Activities: Navigating the Community


 In this seventh session of DC Advocacy Partners, partners will begin to understand:

• Disability rights and responsibilities related to public transportation
• What gains have been made in public transportation for individuals with disabilities
• Accessible and affordable housing options
• The protections under the Fair Housing Act
• An overview of Social Security disability programs
• Which DC and Federal agencies address issues related to disability in several of the “connecting activity” areas.

Skill Sets

Partners will learn:
• How to have an effective meeting with a policymaker
• How to apply to a board or commission
